DJ Lurk is a huge Star Wars fan, ever since seeing Episode IV in the theater with his father in the summer of 1977. He was six years old. Ever so often, he will decide to capture himself at work; this produced four episodes that comprise The Empire Mixes, each one starting out with a sample from the original Star Wars trilogy to set the scene. Once DJ Lurk figured out that he could actually get his finger on scratching Darth Vader and The Emperor, shit got real.

DJ Lurk walked into a little known record shop in Santa Barbara called Deep Groove, and there was some ridiculously addictive early-90s techno music on the sound system: Quadrophonia, which embodies all of the samples and breaks of good rave music. A technological terror, if you will.
